If it’s not in our tax law, then it’s incompatible with the Australian way of life…

Or, at least, that seems to be the opinion of Senator Cory Bernardi in this report from the ABC.

I’m not sure exactly what it is about alternative, non-predatory lending practices that Sen. Bernardi finds so offensive. I haven’t looked in much detail, but so far I have seen nothing discriminatory or sexist about the loans. If I have missed anything please inform me.

We should call it what it is: Sen. Bernardi doesn’t think that Australian laws should be changed to allow non-mainstream cultures to co-exist in our society, within the Human Rights standards that we expect. This is racism.
